The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog!?

Hi! My name is Anissa (not really) and I just turned 30 (well, almost). I feel just like the character from 13 Going On 30 (in that my body is 30, but my mind is 13, and I’m in love with Mark Ruffalo). It’s fine, I’m sure that can’t be psychologically damaging or anything. So, to celebrate this achievement, I’m starting a blog! Growing up in the 2000s I had so many blogs, I’d build them up and shut them down and start all over just for fun. One in particular, where I used to publish my poorly written poetry, I managed to keep updating sporadically from 2013 up until 2020. But I always kept it private, on account of my crippling fear of being perceived. For the past decade, I’ve been my only reader. This year, I said no more. I figured it’s never too late to put yourself out there, in the great wood chipper of life! Wait, I mean... In the wonderful paper shredder—no, that’s not... In the beautiful meat grinder of—what I’m trying to say is, it’s about time I throw myself to the ravenous wolves of the—Anyway, I should publish what I write.

My intention is to have a cozy online space that’s the equivalent of a teenage bedroom: pure self expression, zero bills to pay. You see, I didn’t get to enjoy my girlhood very much—because it never really is enjoyable, is it? You usually have to take a lot of abuse, you have to handle a good deal of mental illness, battle a plethora of imperialist propaganda and carry a fuckload of generational trauma, all while your body and mind grow at uneven paces. But I can do it now, now that I have... still all of the same problems, plus the bills. Where was I going with this again? Let me go get my Vyvanse, I’ll be right back.

To sum up my clear and concise points: I’m starting a blog. I intend to have fun with it. This maybe could’ve been a tweet, but then that would defeat the whole purpose of a blog. Thanks for reading! I’m a very good writer. Yes I am yes I am.
